Lunar crater Piccolomini. North is towards lower right. This crater is in the south-eastern area of the Moon's visible nearside. It is 88 kilometres in diameter and 4.5 kilometres deep. Here,the western half of the crater is in deep shadow. The central peak is 2.5 kilometres in height. The satellite crater Piccolomini M (23 kilometres across) is on the outer edge of the rim at lower right.
