Bill Richmond (1763-1829). Pugilist/Boxer. Portrait. The son of former slaves,Richmond became a respected boxer. He fought a famous match against the British champion Tom Cribb in 1805. After retirement he established a boxing academy in London. Became a popular publican and respected member of the Fancy.
