Dwarf mongoose in a hole in a log. Dwarf mongoose (Helogale parvula) inhabit savanna,woodlands and mountain scrub across central and southern Africa. They have a body length of 18-26 centimetres,and are considerably smaller than other mongooses,which are around 40cm in length. They hunt small vertebrates and insects during the day.
