Hystiocytosis is an excess number of histiocytes,cells that form an important part of the immune system,specifically the cells engaged in phagocytosis (engulfing and destroying foreign particles and pathogens). A histiocyte is at centre. The pale orange cells are red blood cells. In LCH,the histocytes move into bones,causing damage in the form of lesions. This sample was obtained by a puncture on a scapular mass
