| Refrigerating crates of oranges. Worker loading oranges into a refrigerator railway car at a co-operative orange packing factory,Redlands,California,USA. This refrigerator car is an ice-bunker reefer,with blocks of ice in the end compartments (seen at top behind the crates). The chilled air circulated through the slats in the floor. The Sunkist Growers co-operative originated in the 1890s.
