White-headed lemur (Eulemur albifrons) male in a tree. All lemurs are endemic to Madagascar, where they evolved in isolation from other primates after Madagascar became geographically isolated from Africa. Many lemur species are becoming increasingly rare due to habitat destruction. This one is also known as the white-fronted brown lemur. It is omnivorous, feeding on fruit, leaves, flowers, insects and other arthropods. Photographed in Parc Ivoloina,Madagascar | |
