Researcher works with brain images produced by a Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI) scan on the left hand monitor and by a Magnetoencephalography (MEG) scan on the right. Both sets of images show the networks of activity of brains in a default-mode or 'resting' state. This network disappears when the subject is given a task and much work is being done on how this network is involved in various neurologial diseases.
