MODEL RELEASED. Hardness testing. Researcher using a scanning indentation mechanical microprobe (SIMM) to perform a microhardness test. The probe within the apparatus applies a known pressure to the surface of a material at several points. The surface is then scanned and measurements of the indents taken.
