Rifater tuberculosis drug
Rifater tuberculosis (TB) drug. These pills contain three drugs; rifampicin,isoniazid and pyrazinamide. They are used in combination with ethambutol as the first-line treatment for TB. Combination therapy is used to prevent the bacteria from becoming resistant to any of the drugs. As the drugs have different mechanisms of action using a combination is also more likely to clear all the bacteria from the body. TB is cased by the bacterium Mycobacterium tuberculosis,which is spread by coughing and sneezing. It infects the lungs creating primary tubercles,nodular lesions of dead tissue and bacteria. The bacteria may enter the blood or lymph system and spread to other organs of the body
