Robert Waring Darwin (30th May 1766 - 13th November 1848) silhouette made some time around 1826. Robert was the father of Charles Darwin. Robert wanted Charles to be a medical doctor,as he was,(and his own father,Erasmus,before him). Being over 6 feet tall and some 24 stone,Charles described his father in his autobiography as "the largest man I ever saw". He also described him as "the kindest man I ever knew".
