Hylas-1 (Highly Adaptable Satellite-1) is a small geostationary communications satellite launched from the Guiana Space Centre,French Guiana,on 26th November 2010. It will provide new and innovative services including High Definition Television (HDTV) and interactive satellite delivered broadband services,which will help address the poor broadband coverage in many parts of Europe with less developed ground infrastructure.
