Electrocardigram (ECG) of a patient undergoing coronary angioplasty surgery. Angioplasty is a technique used to mechanically widen a narrowed or obstructed blood vessel. A balloon catheter is inserted into the narrowed area and inflated to force the vessel open. It is then deflated and retracted back out of the body. ECGs show the electrical activity of the heart over time and allow the health and function of the heart to be monitored | |
