Twin 13A switched sockets protected by a residual-current device designed to protect against electrocution when using outdoor and workshop appliances such as power tools, lawnmowers, hedgetrimmers etc. and to protect them from possible fire hazard. The socket will trip within 40 milliseconds when a residual leakage current of 30mA is detected. As an "active" RCD it trips when the power fails and has to be reset with the blue button. There is a red test button for safety checks. When in operation the window below the reset button shows red. These devices are useful in schools, factories and laboratories in that they give local protection and avoid the loss of complete circuits | |
