Felix Hoffmann (1868-1946),German chemist. Hoffmann studied chemistry in Munich,and began working for Bayer Laboratories in 1894. By 1897,he had synthesised the painkilling drug acetylsalicylic acid,this first time this had been done in a usable form. The new drug was marketed worldwide by Bayer under the name aspirin. Hoffmann continued to work for Bayer,moving to the marketing department. He retired in 1928 | |
