Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope in the nose cone of the Delta II rocket launch vehicle. Fermi is a space observatory that will study high-energy phenomena such as supermassive black holes and gamma ray bursts from a low Earth orbit. Fermi was launched on 11th June 2008 from Cape Canaveral,Florida,USA. It orbits Earth at an altitude of 550 kilometres.
