| Peaches (Prunus persica),historical artwork. These are 'Teton de Venus' peaches,a cultivar of the peach. The peach originated in China,and spread to Europe through the Middle East,Persia and the Roman Empire. This cultivar was developed in France,under the patronage of Louis XIV,the Sun King.
