John Monument,British conspirator. Monument was one of the Cato Street conspirators,a group that plotted to assassinate the British Prime Minister Lord Liverpool,and his cabinet,in February 1820. The group is named after the street in London where they met and were arrested. Monument testified at the trial and was later pardoned,though other conspirators were executed for treason.
