Marine iguana (Amblyrhynchus cristatus) male. This is the only truly marine lizard,spending much of its time in the water feeding on coastal seaweed and algae. It is endemic to the Galapagos,where it forms large colonies along the rocky coastlines. The coloration of the male varies,with red colours on display in the breeding season.
