SESAME microtron particle accelerator. Microtron particle accelerator (BESSY 1) donated by Germany to the Synchrotron-light for Experimental Science and Applications in the Middle East (SESAME),located in Allaan,Jordan. The four magnets seen here (brown) are used to focus the electron beam. This independent laboratory is scheduled for completion in 2014. The BESSY 1 accelerator has been upgraded and its strength doubled for the new project.
