Cowslip. Flowering cowslip plant,Primula veris. The cowslip has a number of medicinal uses. The pulp of the underground stem (rhizome) can be used as an anti-inflammatory compress; in its powdered form it can be used to induce sneezing. Oil extracted from the flowers can be used to treat bruising. The young,tender leaves can help to eliminate poisons and toxins from the digestive system if eaten as part of a salad.
