Young bastard quiver tree (Aloe pillansii) amidst desert flowers. This tree is a succulent,a plant that is adapted to conserve water and survive in arid areas. A. pillansii is among the largest of the aloe trees,and can reach heights of over 6 metres. It is found in southwestern Africa where it is now endangered by overgrazing of its seeds.
