Trooping cordyceps fungus (Cordyceps militaris) growing on a dead moth pupa. This parasitic fungus attacks the pupae of butterflies and moths. The spores grow inside the host feeding on the insides of the insect. The fruiting body (orange) disperses reproductive spores, which become attached to another insect larva to continue the cycle.
