Chlamydia trachomatis causes various types of genital,eye,and lymph node infections. It is responsible for the sexually transmitted diseases: lymphogranuloma venereum (enlarged lymph glands with skin ulcers),and non-specific urethritis (NSU) affecting the urogenital tract.
