Red ball seen under green light. The ball appears black as its surface absorbs green light. The ball will only appear red when there is a source of red light for it to reflect, such as in red or white light. Normal, white light is a mixture of all the colours of the spectrum. The colour of an object depends upon which part of the visible spectrum it reflects. For pictures of this ball seen in white and red light, see images A200/365 and A200/366 | |
