The Apollo 15 Lunar Module Falcon lifts off from the Hadley plains - blasting foil and other debris across the landing site as it rises off the surface. In the distance Mount Hadley can be seen and nearer to the lander some equipment - perhaps including the parked lunar rover. Tracks of the rover around the base of the lander can be clearly seen as the LEM tilts over revealing a view looking straight down onto the landing point. The clip runs for another seven minutes as the LEM climbs back into orbit - revealing a dramatic array of craters and debris shields. Date recorded: 1971-08-02 | |
