The approach to the Hadley plains seen from the Lunar Module Falcon's window as Dave Scott and Jim Irwin come in to land on board Apollo 15. The deep dark twisting rille can be seen as the LEM tilts downwards. As the LEM descends the craters become clearer and their scale is realised as the dust starts to blow out from under the lander. At the end of the clip the shadow of the landing gear can be seen as the spacecraft comes to rest on the surface. Date recorded: 1971-07-30 | |
