Timelapse footage of clouds remaining in position over mountains. These cap clouds form when moist air is forced upwards by its passage over the mountains, causing the moisture to condense into clouds. As a result, air downwind of the mountains is very dry and free of clouds, which forms a distinct edge to the cloud formation. Such formations are very common over the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains. Filmed in the USA in winter. | |
