Groundwork for the installation of three wind turbines. The turbines are being constructed behind the Kirkstone Pass Inn on Kirkstone Pass in the Lake District, UK. Because of its remote location, this pub was not connected to the grid, and spent £25, 000 a year on a diesel generator. The wind turbines vastly reduced the need for the generator and were the first wind turbines to get planning permission in the Lake District National Park. | |
