Demonstration of an exothermic reaction producing heat. The probe and readout shows the temperature change as hydrochloric acid is added to sodium hydroxide. This is an acid-base neutralisation reaction, reacting to produce sodium chloride and water, and giving off heat. The temperature starts below 19 degrees Celsius and quickly rises to more than 65 degrees. | |
