Coupled spring pendulums simulation. Numerical simulation of eleven coupled spring pendulums (three masses and three springs) with varying values for the masses and spring constants. A spring pendulum consists of a mass attached to a spring. The combined effect of the oscillating mass and the spring produce a more complex system than a simple pendulum (mass on a string). A coupled pendulum is one linked to another one, which leads to coupled oscillations as the pendulums affect each other. In some cases, the oscillations of the coupled pendulums will synchronise. | |
