Dental bridge. Animation showing a dental bridge being fitted. This procedure is carried out to replace a lost tooth. The artificial tooth is fitted to two crowns that cover the teeth either side of the gap. First the tooth enamel is removed with a file from the adjacent teeth and then an impression is taken of the jaw. The bridge is made, using a cast made from the impression, and fitted over the teeth. If a porcelain bridge is used, it is often fused with a metal interior to increase its strength. It is important to clean around the bridge carefully to reduce the likelihood of infections.HD master is flattened onto a black background, as seen in this preview. The original file has a transparent alpha channel and is available as the HD master of clip K003 3749. | |
