Oak marble galls on an oak tree (Quercus robur). The galls are chemical distortions of leaf buds, induced by the growth of the larva of a gall wasp (Andricus kollari). The wasp lays an egg in the leaf bud, and the gall develops to protect and feed the larva. Filmed in Denmark. | |
