Cell membranes. Bessel beam plane illumination microscopy of a cell membrane (green) and the membrane of the cell's nucleus (red and blue). This technique shines Bessel beams through the side of a sample, illuminating it in thin sheets. The beams are scanned across the sample pulsing on and off.
