High-speed footage of guitar strings vibrating after being strummed. The vibrations of the strings cause the surrouding air to vibrate, which is perceived by the ear as sound. The hollow cavity below the strings acts as a resonator, making the sound louder. The guitar has six strings of different thickness, getting thinner towards the bottom. Thicker strings vibrate more slowly, producing lower notes.
