Animation highlighting nine of the smallest, faintest, most compact galaxies ever observed in the distant Universe. These galaxies are more than 100 times smaller than the Milky Way, and have redshifts of up to 5.76, meaning they were created very early in the history of the universe. The images were taken in a collaboration between the Hubble Space Telescope and the Spitzer Space Telescope. | |
