Pan across the spiral galaxy NGC 4666. This galaxy is home to an unusually large amount of starbirth activity, and is thus considered a starburst galaxy. The rapid rate of starbirth, and the giant short-lived stars it produces, have created a superwind of hot gas blowing tens of thousands of light years into space. The galaxy lies some 80 million light years from Earth in the constellation Virgo.<br>Restrictions: | |
