Zoom into the centre of the Milky Way, starting from a wide shot. At visible wavelengths, in the first part of the clip, dust and gas block much of the light from objects behind them. The dust is more transparent to infrared, however, which allows astronomers to see stars behind clouds of dust. At the end, the view switches to a VISTA infrared image, showing countless stars invisible in visible light.<br>Restrictions: | |
