Zoom in to the star GJ 1214. This star is five times smaller than our Sun and three hundred times less bright, and is orbited by a super-Earth exoplanet, whose interior is likely mostly made of water ice. The planet is thought to be very hot and surrounded by a thick atmosphere, which makes it inhospitable for life as we know it on Earth. The planet has a mass of about six times that of the Earth and is located about 40 light years away.<br>Restrictions: | |
