Victoria Crater, Mars. Opportunity Mars Exploration Rover (MER-B) panoramic false-colour view of Victoria Crater, a Martian crater visited by the rover in September, October and November 2006. The rover is on the edge of the crater, on a promontory called Cape Verde. At left is another promontory, called Cape St Mary. Cape St Mary, which is 15 metres high, is about 40 metres distant. The far side of the crater is about 800 metres away. Victoria Crater is around 70 metres deep. | |
