Net-casting, or ogre-faced, spider (Deinopis sp.) hangs from rainforest tree branch in French Guiana with web stretched between its front legs waiting for unsuspecting prey to pass by. This nocturnal spider will then pounce onto the prey, entangling it in the web. These spiders are widely distributed in tropical habitats throughout the world. | |
