Partially-dismantled computer hard disc drive being illuminated with a high-speed stroboscope. As the flash frequency of the stroboscope is lowered to 7, 200 flashes per minute, the white mark on the disc appears stationary. This is due to the mark being illuminated once each rotation, and hence shows the rotational speed of the disc. | |
