Lava flow from the Fimmvorduhals region of the Eyjafjallajokull volcano, erupting in Iceland. This eruption released a huge plume of ash that was blown south-east over the United Kingdom, Scandinavia and parts of northern Europe. The presence of the ash led to the cancellation of all commercial flights in this area due to concerns that the ash could damage jet engines. Filmed on 11th April 2010. | |
