At 4, 198 metes high, Grand Teton peak is the highest mountain in the Teton Range of the Rocky Mountains in Wyoming. The Tetons are fault block mountains created when one side of a fault rose high above the other due to uplifting and the other side fell. The Tetons are the youngest range of the Rockies and were formed between six and nine million years ago. | |
