Freshwater pennate diatom, a type of alga, moves slowly along. Method of movement is not fully understood, Chlorophyll can be seen inside its glassy cell wall, or frustule, made of silica. This one is approximately 200 microns in length and was photographed under Nomarski DIC illumination. | |
