Monarch caterpillar (Danus plexippus) nibbles away on milkweed plant. The milkweed monarch caterpillars feed on contain toxins which are absorbed into the caterpillars' bodies. While harmless to monarchs, the toxins make the caterpillars less likely they will be eaten by predators. | |
