Belonging to the group called sauropods, Mamenchisaurus was one of the longest animals to ever walk the Earth, with M. sinocanadorum (shown here) reaching an estimated length of 35 metres (115 ft). Five species are known. Memenchisaurus lived from the Late Jurassic to the Early Cretaceous periods, 160 to 114 million years ago. | |
