One and two Euro coins. The Euro became the currency of the Eurogroup of European Union countries in 1999. In 2020, 19 of the 27 EU member states, the Eurozone, use the euro currency. The 1 and 2 Euro coins are two-toned, silver and gold. The 1 Euro coin has an outer part of nickel brass and the centre is layers of copper-nickel, nickel and copper-nickel. The 2 Euro coin has an outer part of copper nickel and the centre is layers of nickel brass, nickel and nickel brass. The copper alloys make the coinage antimicrobial. The common side on the 1 and 2 Euro coins show the landmass and all coins feature 12 stars in their design. | |
