String theory, conceptual illustration. This theory tries to unify the four fundamental interactions: gravity, electromagnetism, the strong nuclear force, and the weak nuclear force. Strings (also called superstrings) are one dimensional physical objects either closed or open. The length of the strings are assumed to be on the order of the Plank Length and the vibrational state of the string determines the type of particle. | |
