December 2004, the Huygens probe has entered into Titan's atmosphere and has deployed its pilot parachute. At about 175 km altitude, the probe has opened its main parachute, has dropped its fairing and has begun to use its scientific instruments. Huygens has then dropped its main parachute and has deployed a stabilization parachute. For the last 140 km, it has transmitted data to the orbiter, before landing. | |
