Leo Isadore Dana (1895-1990), US physicist. Dana graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and received his doctorate from Harvard University. He then spent his entire career at the US chemical company Union Carbide, where he specialised in low-temperature physics. He was at the forefront of cryogenics research and his developments included thermal superinsulation for shipping liquefied gases and automotive antifreeze products. | |
